Mentor Days 2014

APCAPC Past Events

March 17-18, 2014 at the Best Western Denham Inn and Suites in Leduc, AB.

Mentor Days started after a prayer from an Elder and  welcome-lunch.  Alberta PCAP Council co-chair, Tammi Crowley started our program with introductions and opening remarks. Then, special guest Dr. Dorothy Badry from the University of Calgary led the PCAP Mentors in a Fidelity Assessment Activity, where Mentors identified the strengths and weaknesses of PCAP services in their regions. Dr. Badry summarized the results of this activity and led a discussion on how mentors can better connect.

In the evening, mentors were able to snack, talk with their peers, and get pampered during Mentor Honor Night. Day 2, Mentors were able to choose between different sessions including Strategies for Dealing with Difficult Clients, Doula and Birth Coaching, Belly Dancing, an EPS Drug Unit presentation, and PCAP Client Sharing. PCAP Supervisor, Tracey Knowlton, then led a powerful drumming session before an Elder closed our event with a prayer.
